What is the thing you most wish you were great at? {day 17 of the 30 for 30}

The piano.
I think it is a beautiful instrument and the sound it produces can accomplish anything it wants to.
It can make a person dance till their socks fall off.
It can invite the spirit.
It can make a person cry.
It can mend a wounded heart.
It can make a person sing.
It can be a light in a dreary place.
I love the piano.

oops! Day 16 of the 30 for 30. What are your 5 greatest accomplishments?

1. Snatching Mckay up for a hubby. He is oh so perfect for me!

2. Motherhood. June is so amazing.

3. Being happy now. I used to feel like I had to be something spectacular or above average. That my happiness was based on my accomplishments or how much I could get done in one day. I am very average and I am happy now.

4. Reading the Book of Mormon from cover to cover.

5. Backing up a trailer. Not the easiest of tasks but I can proudly say that I can do it! Horse trailer, boat trailer, small enclosed trailer...Oh yeah!

If I were an animal {day 15 of the 30 for 30}

I love birds. Free birds.
The free bird leaps
on the back of the win
and floats downstream
till the current ends
and dips his wings
in the orange sun rays
and dares to claim the sky.

But a bird that stalks
down his narrow cage
can seldom see through
his bars of rage
his wings are clipped and
his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing.

The caged bird sings
with fearful trill
of the things unknown
but longed for still
and is tune is heard
on the distant hillfor the caged bird
sings of freedom

The free bird thinks of another breeze
an the trade winds soft through the sighing trees
and the fat worms waiting on a dawn-bright lawn
and he names the sky his own.

But a caged bird stands on the grave of dreams
his shadow shouts on a nightmare scream
his wings are clipped and his feet are tied
so he opens his throat to sing

The caged bird sings
with a fearful trill
of things unknown
but longed for still
and his tune is heard
on the distant hill
for the caged bird
sings of freedom.

5 Strengths {Day 14 of the 30 for 30}

Note; these are the opinions of the individual writing them, myself.

1. I feel I am a people person/good friend. I know how to listen. I can council my personal thoughts and feelings. In a lot of situations I can relate. I do my best to put myself in someones shoes and try to understand a train of thought and/or action with out being judge-mental and with honest feelings. I feel like I can understand most forms of humor and can have a good laugh with anyone.

2. I do my best to be a good wife and mom. I consider these a strength. June can always count on me to keep her belly full, bum clean and to snuggle...Mckay too.

3. I'm not a flake. When I commit I follow through.

4. I know how to prioritize, set goals and accomplish them. I'm a detailed person. I like things to be done the right way and I know how to work hard. (This is starting to sound like a job resume) I like to be organized but not over organized, as in, Im not crazy type A personality.

5. I'm a good driver. I know how to back up a trailer and pull a boat. I've never been in a wreck (knock on wood), that I caused. I can drive a manual well.

I Just realized..

...that I only wrote 5 pet peeves when the "30 for 30" challenge clearly asked for 10.
So, I will finish today:
6. When I am talking about my husband or my baby and someone tries to compare them to their hubby or baby. Individuality, embrace it.

7. When Im talking to someone and they are texting. Also, texting and driving.

8. Really competitive people who ruin the fun for EVERYONE when they're not winning.

9. When I walk through something sticky and that something makes a "cack" noise every time I make a move.

10. Being blamed for something I did no do.
